Since the debut of the T by Alexander Wang collection in 2009 his laid-back t-shirts and draped cardigans have become staples of the urban wardrobe (net-a-porter). The new pre-fall 2011 is absolutely no exception to the rule.

farewell stevie dance

Image: STOCKHOLM STREETSTYLE, RUSSH

It's almost time for our favourite editor Stevie Dance to say goodbye to her role as editor at RUSSH and branch out to new and exciting things.

Issue #40 on stands now will be her last with a beautifully styled Autumn shoot with Aline Weber to send her out with a BANG.

We will be sad to see her go!

art forms

Maco+4_large

This is why we love fashion. Fashion can be expressed in so many forms and is subject to change on any given day of the week. Maco Custodio has proved this with what can only be described as art.. Wearable art.
Who doesn't want to be standing on the shoulders of elephants, semi-literally? They may be a little extreme for us to be wearing to the local bars, but nevertheless we can appreciate these awesome artworks. His designs are constantly pushing boundaries and changing conventional ideas about what shoes are. That's talent.

This image from the Vogue Paris June/July 2011 editorial can absolutely be emulated and adapted for the Australian winter. Ironically, June/July is the middle of the summer for Europe, but a jumper with sleeves a tad longer than this one and a chunky scarf, we can totally see ourselves trolling about Sydney during these grey months. Vogue Paris has even managed to make the oh-so-wrong "German-tourist-chic" (apologies for the generalisation) with socks and sandals, oh-so-right.

Yeezy taught me

BEP

Things used to be, now they not
Anything but us is who we are
Disguising ourselves as secret lovers
We've become public enemies.

We walk away like strangers in the street
Gone for eternity
We erased one another
So far from where we came.
With so much of everything, how do we leave with nothing
Lack of visual empathy equates the meaning of L-O-V-E
Hatred and attitude tear us entirely

Let's play the blame game, I love you, more
Let's play the blame game for sure.

WANTING

Handcrafting her jewellery out of Venice, California, Sophie Monet has recently become one of our favourite jewellery designers of the moment. The wooden details and crystals have to be seen to be believed..

Festival de Cannes

La jolie Elizabeth Olsen

Source: aaina, Ellicson's fashion blog.

The film heavyweights and stars rolled into Cannes on their private jets, yachts and fancy cars to attend the prestigious film festival in its 64th year. There have been a few looks that have pushed their way onto our radars. We are absolutely obsessed with Doutzen Kroes' flawless, smokey yet demure, eyes. Bryce Dallas Howard's fiery red hair contrasting with emerald green earrings sings understated elegance. Sarah Jessica Parker's Elie Saab number is floral, lacy, colourful, sleek and perfect, perfect, perfect! Elizabeth Olsen stepped onto the film scene in her own right with her new film, "Martha, Macy, May, Marlene". Her make-up was fresh and young with a coral tint on her lips and cheeks creating an angelic aura with her white lace "The Row" (by Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen) dress.

WE LOVE: THE MESSY SIDE BUN

Slightly disheveled side buns have been popping up all over the place lately after Chanel Fall 2011 whipped up a textured side bun to go with their latest spectacle of a collection. Now constant cravings to wear it loose and low and swept to one side have taken over our daily hair routine.

Part it dead-centre or further to the side, no matter your preference you should be giving this trend a whirl.

Muse by name, muse by nature, this 22 year old model and mother has
got the whole thing down pat. She received the ultimate praise from the God of Fashion herself, American Vogue editor Anna Wintour, in the February issue this year, when she was given a 14 page spread (2nd photo with her son is from this shoot) and a mention in an unusually enthusiastic editors letter.

In 2011 alone she has walked for Marc Jacobs, BCBG Max Azria, Chanel, Hervé Léger,
Miu Miu, Louis Vuitton, Christian Dior, Proenza Schouler and Yves Saint Laurent, just to
name a few. Muse has also signed on to be the face of Yves Saint Laurent, replacing the
beautiful Daria Werbowy, for their spring/summer 2011 campaign.

We're sure we'll be seeing a lot more of Muse and we're excited about it.

Creative Recreation

We have just received these cute shoes for winter from the LA based footwear brand, Creative Recreation
They're great to just slip on and run around in during the day before we whip out the killer heels when the sun goes down. They have a great range of footwear for men, women and children.

Next on our wishlist from Creative Recreation are these 'eggplant' coloured ones:

Check out their video of the range. The little red shoes are funky and spot the 'eggplant' hightops!

CHANEL CRUISE '12

The great Karl Lagerfeld showed his Chanel Cruise '12 collection this past week at Hotel du Cap in Antibes on the French Riviera. The collection featured elegant and ladylike pieces, typical of Chanel, in lilacs, yellows, monocrome and neutrals. Pearls, diamonds and real jewels from Chanel Haute Joallerie were used to accessorise the collection.

Harpers Bazaar captured Christine Centenera everyday of Rosemount Australian Fashion Week so we wouldn't miss out on one outfit!

Amazing amazing amazing!

A little something from the streets..

As Sydney put its best fashion foot forward last week for Rosemount Australian Fashion Week, Tommy Ton was there once again to capture the moments which will put Australia on the style map.

The last photo brought a smile to our faces as soon as we saw it, our two favourite Australian fashionistas looking like old friends & we could not think of a better pair..

ALICE MCCALL SS 11-12

Last Wednesday night Rose&Ham had its very first collaboration.
We took advantage of our good friend Oliver Birdsall's knowledge and expertise of the camera and had him tag along to the show with us as our very own photographer.

Alice McCall really out-did herself with this collection.
The intricate detail and use of prints blew us out of the water. We have been continually fighting over our favourite pieces from the show, but one thing we can agree on loving is that white dress.

We would also like to congratulate our good friend Brielle Picking on a great show. Brielle started working for Alice at the beginning of 2011, and this was her first fashion week with the label.
